One other thing I forgot to mention is that many of these chords whether barre or open, will not sound "clean" until your callouses build up. At first, your skin is too soft and will usually contact multiple strings.

A common problem when taking up guitar is to use too much force to press the strings down. That was the issue for me at the time. When your fingers learn to press in a relaxed way, it'll usually solve itself, as long as the fingers are in the right place. Just a matter of time and practice. When you have a bit of trouble with one guitar and not the other, it can be due to difference in width of the neck as well as string height. Another thing is bodyshape or size. You might hold them differently, changing the angle of your wrist.
