    Greetings,

I recently purchased the Blues Solo Construction Kit for slow blues. I was going through the licks to try to figure out why those licks are good for the position. What I noticed was that, save for position 1, the licks seem to be centered around the chord changes. Almost as if the purpose of the lick is to "introduce" the next chord.

Is this a general rule of thumb that can be used while improvising?
Are the positions transferable to other feels?

    Thanks,

    Craig

I'll say yes. The idea is to always "honor" the chord changes.

If you check out Griff's "Shuffle Construction Kit" you'll only find 5 "positions", rather than 7.
