Basic Track - Slow in A Minor

This track features a drum backing track put together by @Davy. I added the bass line to it. It is a second shy of 11 minutes, but it really is a slow track in 12/8.
The sequence is 12 bar, but not quite the standard 12 bar.

I played along with it yesterday and thought it sounded great with the E7 at the end. This morning, after reading your post, I tried it again and the E7 now sounds awful to my ear. Try an Em or Em7 instead during the turnaround.

I just recorded Papa's chords over one chorus as a demo.

E7 sounds fine to me in both places, i.e. subbing the Dominant 7 (E7) for the minor v (Em).

Nothing special I'm afraid Paleo. I originally laid down the chords on the backing track just to guide me whilst playing the lead, but when I went to bounce it without the backing track, it didn't sound very exciting so I just left it. (It's a bit untidy) I just played the chords as laid out by Papa.
