Back to the Basics

Just Purchased SRM but have not received yet.
When learning guitar I rushed through rhythm to get to the 'fun stuff". Big mistake, rhythm has held me back and has been my weakest skill. After several years of playing (for my own enjoyment) I still have a lot of difficulty coming up with a strum that sounds good with a song.
Unusual rhythms, forget it. When I play along with others I'm all over the place. I hope this course will fix my problems. My intention is to bare down on this course until the first of the year and see if I can master rhythm once and for all, well at least the basics. I'm finding that with the guitar it's the old carrot and stick.
Thanks to others for posting songs that fit the exercises. I'll add any I come across, I hope others will do the same.

Sounds like you also need to do some focused listening.
I listen to music all the time, but in different ways.
Sometime for enjoyment, but also sometime listening to specific parts, be it rhythm part, a solo, or fills throughout the song.
Focus on the the thing that you are trying to learn.
