A Study In Floyd

We haven't done a Pink Floyd style track in a while so I thought I'd toss one up here.

It's a Ballad in D major, which is a little unusual for a Pink Floyd style tune (here's the original track): https://dl.dropbox.com/s/6vpn5rcix9...Ballad Backing Track-Guitar Jam in D.mp3?dl=0

And though it can be played in D, it sounds much better in the relative minor which is Bm so that's what I played.
The track runs a bit over 11 minutes and I'm in for the first 3:20.

Enjoy!

Good stuff!

And I like the E Dorian version.
I would never have thought of that (but again if I printed out what I know about theory, it would actually fit into a thimble...)

Me neither.

I just tried to sneak in a little theory lesson.

I can say I played E Dorian and you can say you played B minor.

But the progression is in D Major.

So that's actually what we both played regardless of our "thinking".

OK.

And I'm gonna take a flyer here and say that the reason why is because they all have the same notes, they just start on different roots.

Am I close?
