A revelation…

In the basement.
…or just a thought.

For the (relatively) short time I’ve been playing guitar (about 12 years), I’ve always had pretty good timing, without really having to count.

Fast forward to my recent foray into ABGU, and specifically Lesson 4, Timing and Counting. I decided to do the lessons as prescribed, and whoa…the sheer concentration I had to devote to just thumping on the unfretted high E string to get the timing down was mentally exhausting, but at the same time, very fulfilling.

The repetition alone so far has been well worth the effort. Really looking forward to more in this course.

Welcome to an experience a LOT of us have had in common. We thought we were good with timing and then we found out we had to count and play at the same time. Keep working it, and soon enough you'll be thumping along (and counting) without having to think about it.
