A little nostalgia on a cool Thursday

I've been involved in an ABGU discussion regarding fingerpicking technique.

Add to that the Dylan challenge and my acoustic juices are flowing following a nearly 25 year hiatus.

I've managed to dig up a set of cassette tapes I mail ordered when Happy Traum was first launching Homespun Tapes (1971-72?).

Anyway, I started converting the first one to mp3.

I was surprised to find they were still good, but also that I recorded myself after the first lesson.

Just for kicks, this is me at the ripe old age of 22 being a smart-ass after my first fingerpicking lesson, "John Henry".

And a couple of song fragments that don't ring a bell.

That would almost make me dig out my old cassettes and get them put on to disc before they fade to nothing.

Yep.

I used to play for hours everyday just makin' stuff up.

I think I have to sing about a 4th lower now.

That averages about a half-step every 10 years.
