A Little Clapton Cover

My original plan was to make this one me, one guitar, one mic on one track.
When I heard that, I wanted to do some editing and effects but it just would not work with a single track.
Went back to the drawing board and created this multi track mix.
There's something about singing and playing acoustic that just works in my brain, but often that goes down the tubes when I pull it all together in the mix.

Built bass & drum tracks to get me going, then added two guitar rhythm tracks panned L/R.
Next, did the vocal track, and one more acoustic track with finger picking that sits more forward in the mix.
I usually mic my acoustic but, used the pickup DI on this one.
Finished up with two more vocal tracks some OOOs AHHs and a harmony that only comes in gently on a few phrases.

I got all sideways during the mix, had effects tracks that got all screwy.
I wanted to go back and redo some vocals, but........ finally, just let it rip.

Correction:
The original post said " I saw Paul Gilbert do this" oops.....should be, Paul Davids
