I was told it is early 1950's, but that dating was wonky back then..............not new, had it, just finally finished getting it to a playable state. Sound is not perfect, but is still fun to play something 70 years old

My first guitar was an acoustic Kay I bought for $15!!

A friend of mine Roger Fritz, Fritz Brothers guitars, now makes the Kay line a produces the Kay basses and guitars he had builds. When he got his first batch of the plastic Kay logo badges he gave the first one to my brother.

The old Kay's are very cool! I have a 1952 Kay Thin Twin (aka the Jimmy Reed or Howlin' Wolf model). 1952 was the first year and only year they used the pickguard mine has, which is the only way to differentiate it from later years.
