Getting the vocal to sit properly in the mix is always one of the trickiest decisions. I thought the vocal in the original was quiet and understated, so I tried to go from there. It sort of makes the guitars jump out a bit more. Thanks for listening and for the suggestion. Now that I have studio one 5 running, I'll have to use mix scenes to experiment more with the vocal level.

Nothing wrong with that.
Vocals are often set back a bit in rock.
Just expressing a personal preference.
Your mix was faithful to the original and that's an accomplishment.
