I worked with Kobe's grandmother for the Fed Gov't around 83-85. She was a section manager. We would talk sports and kids and she was so proud of her granddaughters who were pretty good at volleyball. Then she would add, that 6 yr old Kobe had some scary skills.....even at that age. He got his gracefulness from Millie. She was tall, thin and elegant. She could make a housedress look amazing.

I've never been a huge pro sports follower so, I can't say I was a fan.
He sure was a great player and from reports, I guess, a pretty good guy.
