This is a true story:

A buddy of mine worked for an exercise machine manufacturer, in the mid 80s. You know the type of machine that works with weights and pulleys. Seems a couple of guys had been drinking heavily, and decided to place a certain portion of their anatomy between the weights on this machine, let go of the handle, see how long the would leave their anatomy there before the weights came crashing down.

Yup, one of these geniuses didn’t move fast enough, got injured and sued.

Apparently, the judge found for “the beaver”, but awarded no money. Instead he ordered a warning label to be placed on the machine explaining that there was a pinch point danger.
