Volume Pedal

Another advantage the volume pedal has, some guitars go into humbucker mode only at 80% or more volume. Some fall off in tone, as you roll the volume back, you lose the high end, if you don't have a high pass filter.

There are times I like to run my guitar all the way hot, and by using a volume pedal then you can step the signal down, but still get full output from the pickup

I have one and dearly love it. Small, compact, built like a tank, really nice sounding wah and very functional volume pedal. I use it in front of all of my OD pedals, and it works just like the vol knob on my guitar ... back it off, clean up the OD, increase the vol and increase the OD.

Since RR mentioned it, I will go ahead and add another similar option, which is the Sonicake VolWah. It is a very small footprint combination volume and wah pedal. Mine is solidly built and sounds great. Every week, Sonicake seems to offer a different coupon code on their homepage ranging from abour 20% to 35% for various products. If you wait long enough, the one you want eventually shows up.
