Simple Blues Solo For Beginners

My first go at this lesson Griff emailed on 08-13-19. Counting out loud and playing along, albeit at the slow pace, is still not easy for me but I'm getting there. I don't hear much feeling in this solo as i focused on following the beat.

Good job! Getting really close with the timing.
I don't have the score for that one, but listening to it, I'm wondering if it is written with all 8th notes. That seems to be what you are playing. If the score isn't all 8th notes, that may be why it doesn't sound like there is "feeling" in there.

It's nothing but 8th notes and a scale... it probably won't ever "feel" that impressive. But there are a lot of important skills in it.

Thanks Griff and Mike - That's what i thought - pretty straight forward. I'm moving on to 5 Easy Blues Solos as Griff suggested the other day.

Those are "swing eighths." Around 0:45 your rhythm went south relative to the backing track. Listen and count and I think you will hear it.

That was better. I also have a tendency to rush on a slow jam track.
