After some research the Friedman was selected because it has one of the nicer/nastier growls at the bottom (more top end snap). It's a little difficult to get the growl that Pete Thorn and Robert Baker get. Probably will take some time to develop a technique. But it can be done in conjunction with practicing just about anything else.

I use the wah more than I want to because our singer loves the sound. You can use it for tone shaping without doing the wah wah thing, which is pretty cool. Enjoy!!!

Just make sure you don't "Kirk Hammett" that thing. (Meaning, like the guitar player in Metallica, use the Wah on EVERY freaking solo!).

I'm pretty sure Kirk Hammer uses multiple wahs at the same time

Ever see Slash's setup from GnR's days? He had 4 wahs placed around the stage. That Friedman looks to be a good one!
