I did Ben Hewlitt's course and it was excellent. It isn't blues specific, but he spends quite a bit of time on blues and also explores some jazz and other genres, as well as some Beatles songs. The price on Udemy often drops for specials and discounts if you look for them. I got it for about $40 with a Groupon coupon about a year ago. The same course is also available on skillsuccess.com, although I like how it is presented on Udemy a little better. Ben Hewlett is really good as an instructor and is very good at responding to questions and email whenever I ask them. He also has quite a few song-specific courses that are free or inexpensive. There are a few others out there who all seem to know each other quite well. I've taken some of the lessons from Tomlinharmonicalessons.com, but I tend to rely on his more for specific songs that I am trying to learn. I think Ben Hewlett is better in terms of an introductory course that starts at the basics, much like Griff.

The one thing I can say is that coming from guitar playing, I was able to pick up on the concepts and theory fairly quickly. Technique is a whole other story!

Let me know how you liked it. He does it in 3 sections for beginning, intermediates, and more advanced but I noticed that he tends to cover the same material at the beginning of each section. You will need a C harp for the course. I ended up buying different ones in different keys to see what I liked best. Seydel Session Steel and Suzuki Manji top my list, while Seydel Blues Session, Suzuki Blues Master, and Fender Blues Deville are excellent lower cost alternatives.

For today only - Feb 15th - I saw that Groupon has a $5 special for a "Learn Harmonica Today" online course through SkillSuccess. It is being taught by Ben Hewlett whom Elio mentioned above. it seems to be a beginners course. I don't know anything about this course, other than I saw it listed for $5 for today.

That looks as though it is the Beginner section of the course that I took. I thought it was well done.

The curriculum for the $5 skillsuccess course is here: https://www.skillsuccess.com/course/harmonica/?action=curriculum
The curriculum for the $15 Udemy is here: https://www.udemy.com/benhewlettharmonicatuitionultimate-harmonica-course/learn/v4/content

As far as I can tell the are identical. they also claim to both be a $199 value.

I don;t know how skillsuccess works, for example Udemy has an Android app, not sure if Skillsuccess does.

I actually have both. I originally got the SkillsSuccess course but they had neglected to add in the jamtracks, tabs, and other materials and I was unable to get a response from them. I ended up contacting Ben Hewlitt and he gave me access to the Udemy version, which is identical. Subsequently, Skillsuccess responded and provided access to the materials. I like the Udemy version a little better because of how it is laid out and the fact they have the Android app, which I'm pretty sure Skillsuccess does not have. With that said, either one will work, but if they are close in price, I would go with Udemy.

I enjoyed Annie Raine's Blues Harmonica Blueprint from TrueFire. You can often find it on sale (they have sales a few times a year) but their download price right now isn't bad at $39. Here is the link.

She has a nice low key approach, much like Griff. Hope this helps.
My friend bought the Annie Raines course and likes it. He has had a few lessons and learned what he could on his own. He feels she explains things thoroughly and patiently, and anticipates frequently asked questions .
He unexpectedly got the course for ~ $30.
Thank you
I'm going t the Gear section and ask about harp amps .

I'm not connecting with Ben Hewlett's teaching style so far, and I find it annoying that 1/2 of a video is a recap of the previous video. I would make sense if you what one, practice and watch the next one a week later, but that's not how I'm using the course so far. I do like that he jumps right into playing, starting with chords so that you don't have to work too much on technique to get started.
