{"id":8242,"date":"2022-04-12T18:15:06","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T01:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bluesguitarunleashed.com\/blog\/?p=8242"},"modified":"2022-04-12T13:16:52","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T20:16:52","slug":"stacking-overdrives-for-levels-of-gain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluesguitarunleashed.com\/blog\/stacking-overdrives-for-levels-of-gain\/","title":{"rendered":"Stacking Overdrives For Levels Of Gain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not so much a lesson in technique or style as tone chasing&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>As much as I love a cranked up vintage or modern amplifier, that&#8217;s not often practical and I&#8217;ve come to almost prefer just using a basic, clean tone, plus some pedals to get me where I want to be.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, I&#8217;ll show you how I approach using multiple overdrive pedals for various levels of gain for rhythm or lead playing, on either a Strat or Les Paul style guitar.<\/p>\n<p>My Rat is modified by Modest Mike at <a href=\"https:\/\/modestmikesmods.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/modestmikesmods.com<\/a> and I highly recommend his mod. I prefer it even to the other modded Rats I&#8217;ve tried over the years (which is a lot of them.)<\/p>\n<p>BUT, don&#8217;t feel like you need modded or special pedals to do this.
