I’m not sure how else to put it… but most of us learn the “boxes” of the pentatonic\/blues scale in a way that… isn’t actually all that useful to us in the heat of battle (during an actual solo.)<\/p>\n
It’s not our fault, it’s how we have to learn them at first. But the problem lies in the fact that, once we get past the first box\/pattern, most of us don’t focus on root notes and learn how to use the boxes as scales.<\/p>\n
In most cases, they are little more than finger exercises at that point!<\/p>\n
Of course, there is a better way. It’ll seem really confusing at first because I’m asking you to look at things differently.<\/p>\n
You’re not learning anything new, the 5 boxes never change, the only thing that will EVER have to change is how you look at them…<\/p>\n
… think about that for a minute, because it’s very powerful.
