I make no bones about the fact that I’m a big Freddie King fan, and his version of “I’m Tore Down” is one of my personal favorite tunes. If you have Eric Clapton’s “From the Cradle” CD (or mp3 or whatever those kids are listening to these days) you’ll hear he did a killer version of it.<\/p>\n

In reality, the rhythm is a pretty standard shuffle pattern that works for a variety of tunes. Just the other day I was teaching one of my private students the same pattern as used in a Joe Bonamassa tune, and then I heard it in an Albert King video where he was doing “The Sky Is Crying” so it even works in a slow blues.<\/p>\n
