This is the part of the lesson where I play a few notes, and you echo it back to me. It's in the video, but some people prefer the audio to work with.
Good morning Griff, the course sounds interesting. I was wondering if in this course it is all licks like in your demo or do you work up to more of a solo? Or does it end up like the trading 4’s lesson? Thanks.
Is the Blues Soloing a book or download? Thank you
can’t get Downloads to Download Griff, please help. !!!
This keeps you under control. Nice refresher.
this is the difference between piano and guitar lessons.from day one ,a piano teacher will teach you to hear and identify and replay notes and chords.as guitarists we are way behind in this.cheers.
Interesting lesson once you get the hang of it Thanks Griff.
Very interesting stuff! I previously learned from one of your prior videos to use the snare drum to identify beats two and four when listening to a song and trying to figure out the count. My “aha” moment from this lesson was to listen for the chord changes to identify beat 1. Simple enough but I had trouble identifying beat 1 previously. I look forward to more of these Glympse. Is that your new course. Thanks so much!
Are the rhythm guitar parts tabbed out?
If so, how much of the rhythm parts are tabbed?
Thanks.
Your technique is a genuine experience of playing blues fundamentals from the heart.
I’ve been around guitar musicians all my life. I’ve been playing guitar in bands for 35 years now, and learned more in the past 6 or 7 months than I all of that what came before.
Thanks!
Holy crap ..knew I was bad but I got lost and frustrated immediately ! Have to put guitar down and pause video till a later time or I may have sell all the gear that took me forever to find and acquire . Idk why counting screws me up so badly

Great concept Griff, it is exactly where are I am at.
I have trouble counting outloud and finding the right notes on the fingerboard, reading music/tab at the same time. Always have, despite trying again and again. I can jam along with other folks though and fall into the groove, however, without a problem. So… I‘ve been considering getting a practice drum-kit just to practice counting outloud without the other mental distractions.
That was good I enjoyed that. But I too have trouble counting out loud and playing but I am working on it. I am 65 and just want to play along with some jam tracks. I don’t think I will be playing in a band or anything. Just want to play alone with the music.
Sorry I’ve to write this, especially as I’m one of Griff’s greatest fans:
Except for the first three or four examples (from 12:45) Griff’s first note, which I understand is to be on the 2, is certainly not right on the 2. This said, it’s quite confusing when you wait for Griff’s next example on the 2 and then it comes later.
Also this makes my own playing out of the beat.
I am referring to 13:25, from where on Griff doesn’t start on beat 2.
Is it possible that some kind of latency takes place? Don’t have this trouble though on any other of Griff’s clips.
Isn’t he starting in different places by design? The point seems to be to be able to identify where in the count he’s beginning. If he starts in the same place all the time, then the lesson loses some of its value. Seems to me he’s starting later in the count on purpose — and it was working for you because you noticed things were off. That’s good work.
Counting is like recording as soon as you hit the record button you lose it. And the videos are great at showing the right way i would like to see one and hear what it sounds like when its done wrong. THANKS
