Yep. It helps if it's something from Griff, but if you're working on a specific tune that isn't Griff's (and it's a tune he is familiar with), he'll give you his opinion of your technique and suggestions on how to improve your performance. If you have tabs that you're learning from, it helps to include them as part of your submission, but it's not absolutely necessary.
