Solo 3 : Duet With Griff

When I posted "Solo 3 Double Take", I was wondering if any one would notice I actually double-tracked it. I did about 20 takes, but each one had a little glitch somewhere. Thinking I would never get it perfect, I took the two best and thought maybe I could edit out a glitch in one and replace it with the good part of the other. That proved to be more difficult than I expected.

Then inspiration hit me, thanks to Sir George Martin and The Beatles.

What if I took the two tracks and put them together?; each "hiding" the imperfection in the other.

So that's what I did. You are actually hearing two solos at once. Sometimes in unison, but when not, creating some "out of phase" effects.

Then I thought "What would it sound like if I mixed my double-tracked solo with Griff's solo track?

It would sound just like this:

This first track has us on separate channels: (I'm in one ear, Griff's in the other)

The second has me slightly out front of Griff:

The third has Griff slightly out in front of me.

If you followed this, I thank you in advance for indulging me. I'm having a blast.:D

The next step would be recording directly over Griff's solo rather than over the backing track. Hmmm.....:sneaky:

Peace

No, I think the next step is to have Griff's track play backwards while yours plays forward, it might say "turn me on deadman" or something. You never know!
