Well John (And Larry), I 'm waiting on an honest evaluation from the players themselves!

Awesome Guitars, both of them! I need to hear the "Nitty Gritty".

Thanks everyone re your nice comments on the Suhr.
Sadly I haven't had any time to myself this last week as I had friends staying over and it is considered a bit rude to dissappear to the music room.

I haven't played the new guitar either, other than a few strums when it arrived.  Also a bit behind schedule on solo #2 but my visitors left early this morning so no excuses now.

Hopefully get my computer problem sorted now also, and when I have solo #2 working I will try and record it with the Suhr and see how it sounds.

To me though the Suhr guitar just sounds like a good Strat, and not a lot different to my bits and pieces Strat.   I guess the extra money is in the craftmanship, detail and materials used, still not sure whether it is worth the extra but time and some playing will tell.

John,

If we do things right, Nothing can replace our first love! No matter how much we pay!

No matter how good the Suhr is, take your "Baby out for a walk!" at least daily! She might not be the best, but she has a place in our heart!

Oh BTW,  She is still a beautiful girl! Not even John Suhr can take that away!

Cheers!

At work now, but I found this online and this is exactly what it looks like. http://www.buffalobrosguitars.com/images21000-21999/ugb21588-hamernewportpro/  I didn't buy it from these people, but bought it from Fat Sound Guitars in Cary, NC and got such a good price.

I'll try to take pics of my new Hamer and my PRS soon and post them here.

God do I love that Guitar! From what I can see it's similar to the Les Paul Jr shape but a little bigger body with arch top? I gotta try one of those.

Now I really want to hear a post with eac of these new axes!

Man, what a tone this thing has. It took a few hours to get used to the semi-hollow sound compared to my PRS solid body, but what a bluesy rich sound. So different than the PRS in sound, although my wife can't tell the difference. Hard to explain: Fat, bluesy, a little dirty, empty, hollow, soulful, a little mysterious.....And I haven't even figured this thing out yet. When I figure out how to record something, I'll post it. Right now I'm having too much fun exploring this.

But now, some family time. It's Wii fitness time.

Congrats!, I think the description you were trying to convey was that is has a "Warm", easy Tone to it. My Casino is the same for me, though not the quality of yours'!

I'm happy for you!

Sleep well with it tonight my friend, your wife won't mind the couch when she sees why!

I have attached a pic of my bevvie of beauties (in my opinion) my playing skill level is not good but with the "Griff course" soon to be arriving at my door i hope to be making the most of these guitars and playing the blues to my hearts content.

Nice Malc C,
Looks like you have everything you need to play some serious blues.  Is the amp stack just out of the picture???

hi again... Thanks for your comments about my guitars.. i have attached a pic of my amps..the one on top is a Trace Acoustic Amp,which i use for practice sessions.. It has a microphone socket ..so is ideal for amplified vocals when i am using the bottom amp, which is a Laney 30 watt valve amp.. I also use just the Trace Amp when i play at the local pub or when i do my community bit playing at the Senior citizens rest homes. They love it ..i must remember not to play Knock.knock, knocking on heavens door..they might just get the wrong idea and the forcibly remove me from the building.. have you ever been thrown out of a gig by a set of strong arm grannies.. could be nasty!!
i havent tried my attempts at playing the blues for them yet.. When i get Griffs stuff on board  i'll give it my best shot..you never know ther might be one or two of them that will"rush the mic" just to show what blues singing is all about!! i'll keep you posted..

Ahh the Amp stack, I knew it had to be there.  You should definely get some good tones from all that.
