My takeaway was husband/him was one person, Me was the wife.

It was easier for me to follow because it came to me via my oldest daughter.

That was about my Mom's reaction to my youngest brother. I really liked his friends too. Flamboyant, some of them, but so comfortable in their own skin.

When my son finally came out to us, he was so nervous-looking I thought he was going to faint. We came back with: well, duh; was about time he finally said something. Never pass up a chance to break balls on someone, sez I. It was such a relief to him, he forgave the digs. Now he's out and proud, serving in the military, and married to another serviceman.
