Hi guys. I just finished a Studio One tutorial on extending a jam track for the Recording Tips and Tricks section, so I thought I would share the results of the track here in the VJR.

This is one of the tracks in Griff's first Ultimate Blues Jams packages. The original was just slightly over 3 minutes and through the miracle of modern technology, it is now almost 13 minutes long. Plenty of time to stretch out.

Just a note, the track begins with a 4 bar vamp on Ab (the I chord) before it launches into the 12 bar form (so the first round is 8 bars of 1 (Ab). Every chorus after that is a straight 12 bar form... Just so the first brave soul isn't thrown a curve. Griff has graciously allowed me to use the track in the video and post the result here.

Great start! I was going to put something together for that, but I'll let someone else follow your opening! Great job!

I’ll agree with you so that both of us are wrong.
WOW!!! What a start by both of you. Against my better judgement, I'll give it a shot.

***RECORDING***

Playing in A is so ingrained in my brain that it drives me crazy dropping down to Ab (yes, I am too lazy to tune down half step:)). This one gave me some fits but finally ended up with one staying mostly in key:whistle:. Used the Epi 339 from 2:15-3:18.

I went back to the source before recording this - Buddy Guy and Junior Wells Play the Blues: T-Bone Shuffle. Then I just got my inner Buddy on and went for it. Like Stills at Woodstock, I'm scared S**TLESS, but here it is. My first swim at the deep end of the pool :)

4:20-5:23
Welcome to the pool, Chris! As you've found, the water is fine and so was your contribution. It's kind of addictive, so we expect to see you here more frequently!

OK... I couldn't resist...
I'm back.

This is a serious warts and all one shot. It appears I have some palm muting issues on this one, but I'll let it fly anyway. From 1:13 to 2:15

@PR. Your soloing is great here.
Off the wall question that is really in the weeds,
not even sure you can remember but the two step up step down licks at around 1:36 and again around: 2:00 :)07 and :30 on attached excerpt): are those 1/4 note triplets (3 notes against two beats)
