Hi Griff, at the moment I'm just seeing them as 5 separate scales. How can I move (or blend) from one scale position to another position?

The five positions are NOT 5 scales, just 5 ways to play the same scale.
Getting from box one to box two, I usually slide up 2 frets on the third string.
If you really want to get all the boxes involved,
I'd suggest you look into Griff's 3+2 Pattern
