Amps Boneyard list, 1st in line. Classic 30

A few days ago I took a picture of my amp boneyard. I decided to make a list. I had a co-worker who askedif I had and amps for sale. So I went and made a list. Most of these were ebay or craigslist buys.

And the winner is

Peavey Classic 30 in combo in tweed. It looks nice, and even had a full set of tubes, and all the knobs!

I went back and looked up the issue, and they said it worked, but got scratchy sometimes.

I checked the tubes. Seemed ok, a couple of the 12ax7’s were low output, but they probably worked ok.

I pulled the boards out and gave them a look over. I spotted this,

See the cap that’s sideways? I looked on the schematic. It’s R8, which is in series with the signal from the input jack to the first tube.

The back side looks like it’s still soldered? So I removed the solder and made ure the leads both went thru the pcb, and soldered. I also touched up the tube sockets. Didn’t test it yet.
