Thanks. I'm going to look into this. I was just being a bit frustrated about my ability to keep time when I was playing this afternoon.

Just 2 cents from something I've heard Griff say often:
"If you can't count it and play it, the metronome will only get int he way. Turn it off till you can count it."

I agree. I always make sure I can count out something verbally and more or less play it first before using a metronome. But I then start using the metronome because it keeps me honest. I can't subconciously adjust me own counting to accomodate tricky parts of the song, and my BIG problem is I usually speed up the beat if I don't have an external point of reference keeping me in check.
