Thanks for the heads-up Captain. I use the Mac with GarageBand. Since it’s Apple’s DAW, I’m hoping it’s worked out for me (wishful thinking?).

Thanks Moto. I am still using a 2010 cheese grater. It looks like it's days are numbered. I will however continue with it as long as I can.

I am still running High Sierra, as I was unable to upgrade to Mojave because my graphics card wouldn't run it.

I have also held back on this as there seems to be a bit of confusion out there about which graphics programs will run on Catalina. I didn't realise I might lose my music files as well. Thanks for the warning!

Same for iOS 13 and 13 1 for musical apps avoid upgrade if you haven't already

Guitar Pro definitely works, have not run into any other incompatibilities yet.
