Well, I didn't get to go to "WOODSTOCK" 50 years ago--now they are trying to recruit volunteers/ musicians to help make it happen. Any of you Cali. guys up for it ? If it looks like it is really going to happen, I might ride up there and check it out (it is not that far- 6 hrs.) Plus I will have a reason to go to Las Wages...We can't be no worse than the acts they had Bill Boarded for "WOODSTOCK 50 " year tribute.
I have been to the "Area 51" bar, casino, brothel, motel" That's where is suppose to happen--even got the tee-shirt and the no parking sign that reads--- "Area 51 do not enter; "USE OF DEADLY FORCE AUTHORIZED". The tee-shirt reads--"Area 51 Gambling Casino-- I Was Not There- it does not Exsist" (sounds like a blues jam:)) and has space aliens and a flying saucer on the front---if it happens---this could make HISTORY--:cool::cool:

Dave,
As I read this couldn't help thinking of a bunch of strange people doing weird things out in the desert.
It made me think of a cover song I did several years ago called "Far From Any Road" by the Handsome Family.
It was the opening theme song from an HBO series called True Detective.
There are many interpretations of the meaning of the lyrics but, they actually wrote it about the
jimsonweed and other hallucinogenic plants that bloom at night in the desert..............just say'n:rolleyes:

Here's my take at "Far From Any Road"

Just read about it again---they have moved it to Rachel, Nv. (that's even closer)--at least there is water there. But most "OLD HIPPIES" now own air conditioned R.V.s instead of V.W. Vans-With 6000 watt generators---refrigerators--T.Vs--Sattalite dishes. with WI-Fi- Plus I am pretty sure it is not going to RAIN that weekend. Maybe they would let me close the show out with the theme song to----"3rd Rock From The Sun"..:)

Good points Dave.
My experience tells me water is a useful resource.

I love Lake Michigan.
80 miles wide and 300 miles long, plenty water for fun, food and survival.

Technically Lakes Michigan and Lake Huron are really just one lake so it's actually quite a bit longer . Do they have a race on your side of the lake like the Port Huron to Mackinaw race on my side? Only sailboats, though.

Yep! I grew up going to Lake Michigan beaches near Chicago. Spent a lot of time near Lake Superior when I lived in Minnesota. I'm now living on a peninsula surrounded by 4 of the Great Lakes in Michigan. Gotta like the Great Lakes! My cousin raced in the Mac many times. He has some great stories about it.

Steve; I don't live in Arizona no more....I changed my name to "HABIB"---and moved to Afghanistan, opened up a waterboard shop and give people lessons on how to do the waterboard.- I am the coolest guy in KABUL, the girls let me see their face.--I would like for you to come over and visit with me. I will teach you how to surf for free.. Have a good day in America. :p
