Couldn't help myself (again)

Here is mine. It plays really good and sounds very good. It is a very high-quality guitar. I might be persuaded to sell it if any of you want to get your pointy on. I also have the super hard to find original case. It is metallic white that has aged over time. I have a neck pickup as well.

I just came across a blues guy by the name of Big Jack Johnson who is playing a V style Electra guitar. If you google image his name you will find it.

Arrived. The entire guitar was wraped in Saran wrap. The strings were wrapped in plastic to prevent contact with the finger board. The back of the neck had several layers of courogated carboard attached. The whole thing was wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a guitar shipping box where all the empty places were filled with crushed paper. Best packing job I have seen.

Your headstock and upper bout are a bit different from mine. Could have been a one year design change. Mine is pretty heavy, don't know what the body wood is.

Not exactly a "V" but loks like the Electra logo and typical of the more "experimental" shapes they were trying in the mid 80s

And how about the "Mean Lean Disco" roadhouse in the background! I wonder where that was.

Yours looks more like the Aria Urchin. They all came out of the Matsumoku factory with different brand names.

Yes mine is an Aria Urchin. As you pointed out, they came out of the same factory.

Big Jack Johnson is playing the Electra Lady XV1 Here is one on Reverb.

I have three Electra Westone guitars, mine are the Phoenix or Spectrum models. They are all maple bodies. They are super flexible and are fun to play. Tones of tones. I have graphite and two whites colored ones. I got them cheap and just couldn't pass them up. They have fat necks which I love.

A lot of them have push-pull switches on the pots for coil tapping or splitting. That video you posted last shows that.
