I have a Rockslide glass (~$15, pinky to the knuckle, thicker ) which my instructor recommended and I really like. I also have a Dunlop 212 ( $3 , pinky to the knuckle slightly thinner and longer). My goal is to mix picking with slide ( as my instructor) so I wear it on the pinky I have a brass slide which is like waving around a heavy blunt object that collides with the strings. Obviously not much practice with that one. Don't care for the chrome sound.
Johnny Winter said when he was trying to figure out a slide to learn with, his buddy took apart a drum kit and sawed a couple inches off one of the stands. Point is I think whatever you choose you will learn to use it. Then it's a matter of refining your touch and sound. Johhny liked the brass for the "nasty" tone.
Good luck It ain't easy but stay with it.
