Perfect timing! I’ve lately switched from my solid body back to the acoustic. Been digging Furry Lewis, and Robert Johnson lately. I was just about to revisit my ABGU and HTJBA courses when I discovered this in my mailbox. Love these lessons, great for practicing rhythm and sprinkling some notes on it!

I wouldn’t care if this was the only thing I could do on my guitar. It was a good example of the blues, thanks Griff I’ll remember to try it mike

At last! Griff has finally revealed what is meant by the “groove” of a song with an example!! Many years ago the expression “groovey baby” was heard quite a lot, and I have sort of half understood what was meant but never sure. In more recent years I have heard how you have to “get in the groove”.Now I have a better understanding and it all clicks together.

An excellent video Griff. Having bought the 5EABS course and getting on with the first song, there is a clear similarity with this video. Indicates how versatile it is, maybe, to play around with the notes. I am enjoying the course and would like to see more videos along this line of music with the Acoustic guitar. Thank you for the lessons Griff

This one works great as a 4th chorus to Road Song in 5EBS!

Ok “Key to the Highway”. I prefer the C7 shape with root at the 5th for 4 chord D7.

I love 8 bar blues, so direct and clean. This is a great lesson for putting groove in first place. Really spot on. You did another a couple years ago that changed my playing. It included a diminished and a VI, II, V turn around. Thank you! My Christmas “Griff” package is in the mail

  12. William Eichhorn says:

The standard notation in the pick-up appears incorrrect. The first note is not a B. The TAB is correct.

  13. Dave McG says:

Always well presented. Appreciate your teaching approach and emphasis on counting!
