Today’s video is just a fun turnaround lick in the key of G over a slow blues.

It’s not too hard to play and has a real nice feel, so dig in!

That’s a killer turnaround; love that little trill…

Is the tab wrong on the last chord the way I’m reading it’s a G6 would have to have a 5th string root to be D9

I enjoy reading the comments, as they reflect my positive views as well. Nice job Griff as usual.

      Wow! Love that!

great lick Griff, thanks. Maybe I am wrong but I kind of think of the last four bars as the turn around not just the last two. That 5 to the 4 just kind of leads my ear twords a wrap up or at least makes me know we are headed to the top. Would love to see some four bar turnarounds. again thanks for all the great info

Griff, Great lesson. I’m glad to see that you ride a motorcycle.
Hey, you really got to get your bike fixed and go for a ride.
My second favourite passion is motorcycle riding. Living in Canada, it can’t be my first, cause here I can play guitar every day of the year … riding, not so much. 🙂 Keep up the great lessons.
      Yak (Norm) LOL

The first thing that caught my eye is the time signature 12/8 time?? Nice turn around though!!

      • PAUL

THAT LAST LICK WITH THE D9, COULD BE USED TO START A SONG ALSO. LOVE IT GRIFF. !

      • lee

whenever i try to think in that time signature, i think of heart of stone

        • Jeff

Count: 1 and ah 2 and ah 3 and ah 4 and ah. That will count you through 1 measure of 12/8 time. Don’t make it difficult. Keep it simple.

Nice lick. Should be a staple, thanks! (Completely off subject, but I’m curious(your choice of shirts}. Do you ride? And if you do, I’m wondering why we haven’t crossed paths before. Riverside area.

      • Griff

I do ride, but I haven’t much in the last few years. I need to get some work done on my bike and just haven’t found the time.

    • Dale
