Lots of things are afoot here at Planet BGU…

You may already have been working with the new Member Portal, but with the launch of Blues Speed Building Blocks and the new All Access Pass, there’s even more to help keep your practice time effective and efficient.

So I put together a little screen capture video for you with some ideas and tips on how to navigate some of the fun new stuff.

Got questions or ideas of your own on how to make the most use of the new stuff? Leave them below!

Has anyone figured out a way to increase the print size of the tabs in all these tabulation tabs throughout the various practices. When you have to strain to see the numbers on the staffs it destroys any hope of getting fast.

I own more than 25 courses. Books, DVDs, CDs, etc. 25?
I may have to count that again.
I agree with many on the forum that the all access pass is a better deal for those just getting started with you.
How about a discount on all access pass for those of us who are long time loyal, purchasing customers.
Many watch your email vids and perhaps own just a few or less courses.
I have just purchased Blues Speed Building Blocks. I have immediate access to courses on internet but can hardly wait to get my new manual ( printed nicer than I could ever do) and DVDs, etc.
      Darn! I ccould’a had a V8! Remember that commercial?
All access pass vs. money I have already spent for years?
      Decisions, Decisions.
Thank you, Griff, for your consideration of my above points.

Hi Griff, I like the concept of the All Access Pass and monthly. As you know I have a lot of the BGU Courses maybe 10-15 or more and I am still working through parts of them as when I purchased them I was not at that stage to understand the course but your offer was too good to miss out. So in a nutshell I am way behind in most of those courses and have a lot of fun ahead to catch up.

The other problem is that the Internet speed in Australia is pathetic, it is suppose to improve when we get access to the NBN end of 2019 in our area, but at present our Internet speed is about 2-3 MBPS on average in our area. That is why I always purchased the DVD’s and CD’s etc. I downloaded one of your email lessons recently and it took 6 hours and dropped out a couple of times, so I gave up.

I like the concept of your workshops in the All Access Pass once I get ahead on all the courses. I am however progressing. So for the time being I will postpone taking up the All Access Pass for 6 months or so and then check it out again then, but it really is a very good concept which I like very much. Will the offer for the All Access Pass be still available for purchase at anytime?

Thanks Griff for all your work on these projects..I still enjoy your email lessons and all your courses which are terrific now that I understand them.

This is a great concept–gives us members the opportunity to look (maybe deeply) into the complete BGU catalog. I do have a suggestion (maybe not well thought-out, but):

In the practice generator, as a new component, is it possible for you (yes I mean Griff)to group components from different courses (that make sense to be combined)to reach what you think is a GREAT practice session. At a 10,000 foot view for instance, grab lesson(s) from Strumming a Rhythm Mastery throw in some stuff from Speed Building Blocks. The goal could be wrapped around keeping time, from different aspects of playing.

      • Rickorama

        Griff,

I purchased a year-long All Access Pass and am excited and overwhelmed by the courses’ contents. It will take quite some time to digest just all little bit of it.

I tinkered with the practice navigator and still believe that my suggestion of a “canned/preprogrammed” practice sessions option created by you (who better than the creator/developer of all these wonderful courses) would be phenomenal in the future.

THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS NEW PRODUCT AND THINKING OF THE FUTURE.

        cheers

        • Griff

Yes… that sort of thing is ABSOLUTELY on the horizon, it’s one of the main purposes of overhauling the Practice Generator behind the scenes.

    • DaveyJoe

This looks very cool Griff! I know this would have been great in the 70’s.

    • JJ

Maybe thats because when I full screen the intro screen you sent by email, the active screen is not expanded to full screen because the advertisemets aren’t removed and the intro screen only expands to minimal size while the advertisements remain very large and obstructthe full screen of the actual video you are describing.

    • JJ

Everything looks great except: I can’t read the tabs even at full screen with my glasses on.

    • jeffrey

Griff I would like to be able to “link” to lessons saved on my HD as well as link to lesson on the internet. Is that possible?

My comments are the same as Vin, the ALL access pass relates to a lot of BGU courses that I already have.

    • Vin

I think the new site looks really good.

Not really sure about the “All Access” pass. In my case I have already purchased quite a few of the available courses (around 20 or so), so I am not short of material to practice! That puts a different perspective on the value proposition compared to someone who has say just one or two courses.

The practice generator looks very nice. My understanding is that this is only available if you have the All Access pass. It would be nice if there was some sort of an option for those who don’t, but restrict the access to just those courses that they have purchased.

Great all around setup – thanks

    • Corky

Griff, I must say I’m impressed with you new website. I am a member and have purchased Blues Guitar Unleashed. After watching you new website video I think it’s very intuitive and comprehensive. Many great tools to work and learn with. Thanks and GREAT JOB.

One of my problems, I never really know if I’m practicing the right material, I love the blues, just don’t play it very well, I’m trying to practice more, so look out clapton I’m gonna be just as good as you one day

As a retired engineer I’m trying to relinquish myself from the defined and regulated parts of my life that governed me for decades. How necessary and critical is this practice generator? I kinda like just practicing my acoustic before noon and electric after noon. I work on new things and also work on maintaining things I know for both acoustic and electric. Noon is not hard fast but is just a base line to go with. If I’m on a roll I stick with my momentum or I might have to shift time due to other things happening that day………

your audio is very bad griff
i have the new Digetec band creator with looping. has an sd card for storing all your tune you make your self. go to sweetwater.com ad. check it out in the video.

        • Griff

I’m sorry, I see now that Youtube really mangled it when I uploaded it… it didn’t sound at all like that on my local computer. I’ll see if I can upload another version with better audio.

    • Jerry

      This all looks terrific.

What a great road map Unlimited access
      Love It !

For me, this new website and all of the easy-to-use options are just what I have needed! I am a BGU member and have many courses and Video Surgeon on top of it, but this offers the one thing I’ve lacked–STUCTURED PRACTICE! No more excuses for me! I can’t wait to customize my practice sessions using the new site. It will be a form of forced discipline, but I will remain in control of what I work on and for how long. Maybe I will actually become a guitar player after all 😉 Thanks so much for all your work on this project!

    • Ron

Griff…. I really liked the old format. You pay one time and it’s yours as long as the site is still up. What you forgot to mention was how much the second year is going to cost? Under the new plan? I’m not against capitalism but I can only handle so many classes at one time.

      • Griff

And you can absolutely still do it that way… nothing has changed in that regard. This is just another option for those folks that want to take advantage of the new technology.

    • Jim

First time I have been able to leave a response! So I guess I am getting a little better at website. I will just keep banging away at my guitar, at least it talks back to me !

    • Jim

I have been trying to figure out your web site for a couple years now.I am using a phone and things are to small for me to see , and you talk way to fast

    • cowboy

Is it possible in the members section to not only have the courses we have purchased but also a list of courses we have NOT purchased?…just wondering…later.

      cowboy

      • Griff

I imagine that’s possible… lemme see what I can do about that. I’ll certainly add it to the suggestion box list.

    • Reed

Big step up from the old site. I am curious about the All Access Pass that was mentioned several times. Is that a yearly or monthly fee or just an admin tool?

      • Reed

I found the link to the All Access Pass. Thanks!

    • cowboy

enjoying some of the exercises…”stretching” is working my fingers a lot…good stuff…later.

      cowvboy

      • cowboy

both but the yearly is the better buy…considering what you get, it’s a no brainer…later.

        cowboy

        • MikeSRC

Once he pointed out how much I spent last year buying all the courses that year, the All Access Pass was a deal.
