There have been a few questions on the Blues Guitar Unleashed members’ forum about reading some of the more unusual symbols in TAB (tablature).

I did this video in hopes of answering those questions and thought it would be useful to a lot of people.

Right here is some really useful info. It is really shocking you do not have a larger following. Is there anything else I could read to learn more about this?

hey Griff, Great lesson on the TAB. I think in one of your Courses that I purchased you go through the TAB & Music I think it may be in Pentatonic Scales & Technique Mastery.
It would be great when you do these types of lessons that you Refer to what Course we can find them in as some members here may like to know what Griff Hamlin Course they can purchase to brush up on these key points.

      All good for a refresher.

Griff, I wish I was younger so I had more time to let you lead me down the road to being a magnificent guitar player such as yourself.I started learning guitar a year ago. I’m 72 yrs old. I am enjoying learning, but I want to do the chord thing and not put too much effort (time)into being a polished player or spend time learning notes or the playing skills that this video explains. I can only wish that I took the time years ago to learn to play like an accomplished guitar player. I see your passion for what you do, what a lovely way to wake up each day, loving what you do. Keep up the great job of teaching as you.

This was vey instructive and very helpful. Thank you.

    • James Olinger

Exactly what I needed to clear up some confusion! However, I’m studying very hard to learn to read the notes “old school” style because I feel that they are much more descriptive than tabs. I would really benefit from having a lesson just like this one for the notes…if you ever get some free time.

      Thanks for putting this together!

I find odd that you would post a ” TAB ” video, i remember, Griff commenting on how inaccurate TAB really is.

Got it Griff! If I can’t do the finger slides, play it with my toes. But just PLAY it. Right? Seriously, whatever works … works. Everybody’s not supposed to sound identical to everybody else. I couldn’t agree more with the comment on Griff’s teaching ability and methodology. I am still in the beginning stages of working through the BGU DVD’s, but Griff breaks it down so well that I am able to follow along quite well. The combo of demonstration and tablature is excellent. Thanks, Griff.

Nice discussion. I haven’t seen so many notes since I played saxophone!! Maybe I should find a reed and practice two instruments!!!

    • Jim Flynn

Tab reading isn’t the real problem in my opinion. The real problem is reading and UNDERSTANDING the music notation. Rythm and tempo don’t transfer from paper to student easily. Having a recording of the music helps us learn a song in monkey hear monkey do fasion, but unless you sit down and try to read and understand the musical notation along with the song playing, you’re not going to learn to read the music. Knowing the BPM of a song would also be a helpful learning tool. As a new student of music this is the most difficult, time consuming and frustrating part of the entire learning process. Being an old guy also doesn’t help!
Thanks for all you do to help all of us, old and young, learn.

    • Gerald Irwin

Very useful. I have not reached some of this yet, but now I know how to interpret them when I do.

      Griff,
Thank you so much for clearing up questions that I’ve had for a while. Tabulature can be intimidating, especially if there isn’t someone to tell you what it means.

    • Jan P.

      Thanks for the lesson.
I have stumbled over your “Soloing without scales- 4 note solo” and did like your method of teaching. I did buy the whole package. It is good but it does not contain the material to which this lesson applies. What is the title of this whole subject and what does it cover. How much does it cost?
      Pls let me know.

Griff, I see you remembered what I taught you.

    • Dale Wood

Thanks Griff, for some reason it is difficult to find tab notation information on the more advanced techniques. Slides, slurs, bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, are all out there but how they are interconnected in various techniques are hard to find. Thank you, and God bless you for what you do for us out here.

      Good Info

    • Andrew

      Hi Griff,

I have Blues Guitar Unleashed and I am working through it. I have also watched many of your free lessons and have bought the Theory course. I know you stress the importance of “counting” and that foxes me all the time – never having been a mathematician. I may have missed lessons that you have done on this subject and, perhaps, you could either point me to the parts of the packages that deal with that OR could you do a special in depth lesson on counting and how you relate it to tablature. I’m convinced I have seen you do something on this but I watch “dozens” of lessons and teachers and might have forgotten where it was. I am trying to grapple with the theory course and have fun working out chords BUT my greatest weakness seems to be in getting the timing right. Sorry if I’ve picked a question that you have already covered and will gladly go to the back of the class and shut up. However, your help would be greatly appreciated. Too far to come for a personal lesson as I live on the south coast of England.

Thanks for all your great lessons,

      Andrew

    • michael

      Dear Griff

Many thanks for my cd’s and manuals “Blues guitar unleashed” they
arrived a couple of days ago.

To explain to you I am a left handed player and I have a left handed
chord book which I am using to convert the the chord diagrams in the
manual. On page 15 D7 is easily converted by moving over to the left
the notes on the 3rd fret. On page 18 the same D7 chord is shown in a
different layout and does not feature in my left handed chord book.

My question is can I use the D7 from page 15 instead of the layout on
page 18. Or am I being a little dense and missing some of the point of
      lesson 2?

      Your comments would be appreciated.

      Many Thanks

    • Jack

Excellent video. Griff, you seem to know what beginners need to know.

I was hoping to see you demonstrate how to play a slur from one note to another note on different strings. I see many of those and am never sure if I’m supposed to play up the fretboard where both notes can be played on the same string or do a “hammer on from nowhere.”

    • Gary

This part is easy for me. I taught myself to read music many years ago. Gary

    • John Bahun

      Hi Griff:

      Enjoying your lessons for sure!

One criticism…. When I read your tab – several of the numbers are VERY difficult to read due to the string line going thru the numbers 6 8 and 9 are very difficult to read.
Maybe consider a different font or style.

      Thanks!

      John

    • Bob

Thanks Griff, I got your dvd/cd’s, and finding the time is tough, your help with the tabs helped me to keep trying and not bypass what is written because I didn’t understand it. Thanks for all your emails

    • douglas berry

Thank you very much for all the emails. Just ordered your dvd/cd’s. I have been a drummer for 20 plus years and i picked up the guitar to try to explain to my guitarist what I was trying to write. However your emails got me to wanting to play the guitar more. I have seen what you send me and believe you can teach me how to play the guitar because I have always wanted to. From a drummers point of view, what you have showed me already, inspires me to want to be a blues guitarist because I love the blues. Although I play rock, heavy metal, country etc. on the drums.
      Thanks again,
      Doug

Thank you. Everytime I pick up GP or GW mags and check out the tab sections, I’m blown away by all of the tab symbolism, almost to point of frustration. Thank you for clearing some of this up. Sometimes just a simple explanation is all that is required. Many thanks.

    • William Schroeder

Thanks for the explanations. Just wish that my playing sounded like yours. Goes to show that you can understand something and still not be able to do it!

    • B-F-S

Thanks, Griff. Nice clear and precise instruction and a really useful appendix for the BGU course.

    • robert silva

I just finally started the course and I appreciate that type of input in regards to your Tap notation, thanks.

    • lrocs

thx griff, clears a lot of the tab reading up. lrocs

    • lynn

thanks Grif, very good,I have your course and every thing you add makes it that much better

    • Wanda n

Did everything right, still unable to get to the forum, pls help.
Always wanted to learn where were you all these years…..never held a guitar…..need lots of help…purchased both courses and in it for the long haul…I struggle and plow my way through the DVDs and manual each day……..driving my race car the way you suggested…..I am determined and one day I will be good….
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. Blues babe in toronto

    • Brian

      Hey Griff
Just like to say I’m enjoying the course!
      Thank you.

    • RichH

      Griff,

Not only are your instructions a great learning experience for me, but I find myself relying on them sometime more as my motivational driver when I start getting laid back.

      Thanks,

    • Peter McGlone

      Hi Griff.
First I would like to say what a brilliant Course the BGU is. There is a problem with the Audio CD 1 in that it is cracked. I never noticed it at first until I came to play along tracks 57 and 58 to which no sound comes out the rest of the Audio CD is ok. Just lately it chipped on the edge when I ejected it from my CD player. I cannot tell how careful I have been in handling it as I do with all my CDs. I bought tthe Course on 29th June 2010 through pay pal for £88.10 the reference payment is 35314369001. Would it be possible to replace Audio CD 1. My home address is 44 Cedardale Park Widnes Cheshire WA83JU England. Once again brilliant Course and great E mails. Thanks

    • Alvaro

Hi Griff, just got home and saw this, amazing! I can’t play like that yet but hey, looking forward to that, the guitar unleashed is awesome by the way, will keep at it, it is always good to have a look at what is to come in the future so i have a clue from now, thank you for all your support.
      Cheers,
      Alvaro.

    • cliff johnson

      Hey Griff.
You do a fantastic job of teaching. My problem is that all of your video’s require a flash player that I can not download to my phone which is the only internet access that I have. Wish the video’s could be played through this medium. Thanks and keep up the great work.

    • Len Lawson

Hi Griff,Im enjoying your course, but I was wondering what your comments, regarding a quiry I have, here it is.I hope to eventually get to be a guitar player,my interests are really songs like Body and Soul,Georgia on my mind,Misty Satin Doll ,take the A train, now should I be trying to memorize tab or the notes? I suppose you just zip through the notes?I have the Jazz Standards book, and they dont show tab. Thanks Griff. Also my book just shows the notes ,will I be able to know where to put in the licks and other things ,like pulloff etc.thanks again Griff,Len.

    • Nev Johnson

Hi Griff; It’s old Nev from Spain, ex Jazz drummer and now on Guitar. As I’m nearly 72 and bits are falling off let me tell how impressed I am with PTTB. I now sit in with a local lot of (juniors) and jam away hammering and bending like a lunatic.Didn’t have the confidence before, but now I understand more it’s great. Like someone said”blues is easy to play but impossible to master”. Regarding PTTB it’s a pity we have to go from the written files back to the videos but I expect it would cost a fortune to do otherwise. Keep up the good work sir and thank you very much. Hey my favorite track is the Jazz/blues, I LOVE it; even my dog gets up and enjoys it.( Mind you He is deaf) Regards from one happy Welshman.

    • James

Great lesson. A necessity. Just a tip for you guys on here posting your email addresses and phone numbers in the comments section. You are opening yourself up to tons of spam and unwanted telemarketer calls. Not a good idea.

    • Bill

I think Griff could make stretched rubber bands sounds good.

    • glen

Griff, I’m currently in the same situation as TOM being a busy contractor. I appreciate the e-mails daily which goes beyond most instructional vidoes etc. Your ability, talent and experience is diffinitely transfered in your intructions. I’m basically a basement warrior and always interested in guitar players and their natural ability, yours goes beyond that in sharing years of the” little so called trade secrets” shared to get the proffesional sounds developed by so many diferrent artists in the music industry.

    • James Grant

Yes, indeed! Thanks Griff!!! t’s nice to see what I’m playing reinforced on a sheet of paper…Sometimes just the littlest things can slow me down, so it’s great that you help with those – consitently.

    • Tom

Hey Griff. You do a great job. I bought your course a little while back, but being a 49 year old busy contractor, I just haven’t gotten started. I get your emails, and check them out. It’s good to see someone that cares about “after the sale”. It seems to be getting more difficult to find people that stand behind their work, and genuinely care. Keep it up.

    • Robert

Great video, it sure helped me understand notation better. Like someone said above, thanks for service after the sale. Appreciate your great teaching ability.

    • Rex

I spend a lot of daytime on the IPad, I wish you could send these out along with a format that would work for us that are on the go.

    • Greg Pier

      Griff
Finally bought your program after several weeks of receiving your e mails. I took lessons for several years then branched off on my own. I was at a stagnant spot in my playing until I stumbled across your program. You’ve renewed my interest and I approach every playing session with a new appreciation for learning. Great job.

    • Alan Tay

      Griff,

You are awesome! You have an amazing skills to focus on little details that I find it difficult to from other music books and DVDs!

Love your DVDs and method of instructions.

    • Tommie Peabody

Incredible write-up. Did you study the related piece within the Huffington Post some time back? It seems that more and more mainstream media are having to pay consideration to this. I hope your web site will get increasingly more subscribers as this issue gets much more coverage, as it is a great resource.

    • A.D. Hamilton

Thanks AGAIN! This did clear up some confusion I have had over the years reading TAB. Wish I’d have understood this 20 Years ago when I started! Every beginner should pay close attention to this explanation, It will save You HOURS of frustration later! Many Thanks!!!

    • John Adams

The video is too small for me to read. Is there anyway to make the video a little larger, or have a larger version we can download?
      thx,
      John

    • David Brown

Griff, I have purchase all the courses, BBG, BGU, SWS. The only problem I have with them is there are not enough hours in my day to cover them all. I had trouble keeping up with the first solo on SWS (tempo 124 bpm), but used the program you recommended Riffmaster and slowed it down to 80% and I was able to jam with it. Dude your teaching ability rocks.

    • mike ingram

      great guitar course griff thanks

    • Dave Warner

      Griff,
When ordering the Blues Unleashed, you offered a discount on your beginner’s course. I decided to take advantage of that with the view it might help me to identify and perhaps correct any bad habits I might have taken on being self taught. Not only was this the case, but taking the time to go back to the basics has really been paying off so far. Another added benefit is I have a much better understanding of reading Tab than I have ever had.
So starting out I really thought I would just breeze through the beginning course, but now see the benefit of taking my time to go through it as well. Nicely done and very well laid out so far! Thanks, Griff! And keep up the good work!

      Dave Warner

    • Frank Lo Monaco

Griff, great work. I’m currently going through the BGU course and have found it to be one of the best Blues Guitar course out there. Always learning something new and enjoying it as well.

    • steve joshua

Hi Griff I must say how pleased I am with the emails and links you send me, I just download them and get to them as and when I can, God willing when there is some spare time, But the few things ive leared from your videos over the last month have progressed me more than ive leared in the last 30 or so years I have been trying, in the past getting frustrated and angry and puting the guitar away in the case throwing up the attic and years go by then you try again, and the whole process is repeated and before you know it your 50 something and you(me) can only just shake your head and wish, So thanks to you I can now read tab and follow it (very slowly) but im getting it and its starting to sound like theres a melody sound through the hap hazzard fingering, so thanks again Griff and may God bless you and yours. thanks Steve

    • Michael Joe

Thanks for the TAB tips! I am enjoying the BGU lesson. These lessons are far more superior than previous lessons I have purchased. Where I live, it is BLUEGRASS not BLUES so your lessons are just what I needed; on my schedule and pace (LOL). Thanks!

    • Mark Jergesen

Unfortunately, the maximize size button doesn’t work on your demo videos. In the case of your TAB Reading Video, I can’t see the symbols- they’re too small. I’m 60 years old and my eyesight isn’t great– Your lessons are informative, but your DVDs are unaffordable. Best of luck.

    • Aron

Griff Thanks , Got my good guitar out of the shop today so i can practice longer.
Stroke in 2005 left me very weak and tire quickly but i am getting better every day
music is a magical neurostimulator. Left hand is slow but responding, hammer ons
work half the time, twiddeleys may have to use tremolo bar .My shop says my bridge
is shot may use the old one a while longer . Strings wore out stop piece, replaced
I found my long lost chorus box DOD . My oldest son borrowed 10 years ago,
I ‘ll test it and play a little E blues Again Thanks
      Aron

    • Mike Blaisdell

Hello Griff, I’m struggling right along here. Going to do it though. Griff, someone on one of these posts mentioned that a person could buy the course on a payment plan. I wrote and asked about this once a couple of weeks ago but didn’t hear anything back. I’m disabled and can do the payment plan with no problem if that is an option. Please let me know. My e mail is blaze49@megalink.net cell# 207-357-2616 Thanks, Blaze

    • Mike

Hey Griff, got your Blues guitar-unleashed and I think I may be missing a CD. Here is what I recieved: Audio CD 1 & 2, Bonus CD, DVD 1, 2,3,4 and Bonus DVD. Is there an Audio CD #3? Can you varify that I have all of the CDs & DVDs.
      Thanks, Mike

    • drb

Thanks for the tip. I’m not there yet, but when I get there I will at least have a clue. I’m liking your course very much (just finished practicing) and the fact that it is ongoing and improved all the time. I’m so glad I chose you as my teacher.

    • Mike Webb

      Hi Griff,
Great stuff. I’m enjoying your course very much

    • donnie salyer

Griff, just wanted to say still enjoying the blues lessons i purchased a couple of weeks ago, great job.

Hey Griff, Could you send all future correspondence to my new address, 53panhead@bellsouth.net

    • Greg

      Hey Griff,

I love the course. Easy to follow. I especially like that you stay in touch with your clients after you have been paid. Very classy and professional. Thank you.

    • Fred Rickert

      Aloha Griff:
Thanks for the continuing information, I have the course and having a great time learning. Of course, playing the blues in Hawaii is a bit of a oxymoron, but somewhere, somebody has the blues so I play for them. Love your course.

    • Don Ward

Hi Griff…Great instructions and indeed so informative but it needs to be larger. Older folks such as I need it magnified significantly:-)
      Thanx, Don

    • DOCTOR JAY (JIM)

YOU ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT A GREAT TEACHER!!!!!!! I’M LOVEING YOUR COURSE. THANKS GRIFF. JIM

    • Joel

Good info, but too small to see.
Nice course though, I am working my way through the beggining course first.
      Joel

    • Ronzo

      Thanks Griff for the info:

    • chuck

      Excellent video, thanks grif.

    • Gerry D.

      Hi Griff

As ever, thanks etc… Some advice please:

These bends are proving really tough on my fingers, especially on the thick third string. I’m using an acoustic and I’m thinking I possibly need lighter strings. My fingers are really hurting. Also, for years I’ve never used a pick and adjusting is setting me back a lot. Thirdly, you seem to be doing something very subtle when you ‘stop’ the string after a bend. I’ve slowed down the video and it seems like you practically rest for a semi-quaver after the bend – but I can’t make it out on the video.

By the way guys (and gals), I just discovered that on my (latest?) Windows Media Player, I can slow down Griff’s videos to about quarter speed and it’s still at the right pitch. This is REALLY cool as it means I can play along with the music at super beginner speed. Try it!

      Cheers,
Gerry (on the English/Welsh border – not quite as exotic as the African desert, but very inspiring nevertheless)

    • Al

Hi Griff , Thanks heaps for the lesson on understanding tab, there were a few things that it cleared up for me and was a great help, your method of guitar instruction is the best Ive ever come across by far ,there is alot of internet guitar lessons out there but none compare to yours, I intend on purchasing the blues guitar unleashed program as soon as i can afford it in the near future.

Great stuff, Cheers man, Al Gibson, Brisbane Australia

    • Christopher

      Thanks,rock on Griff.

    • Dave White

On your next update to your vidio lessons why show secton how to read and play these special tab signatures. than the student could always refer to that part of the video.

I really thnak you for covering this. I have been really confussed

    • steve

Griff, can this be made downloadable so i can add it to my PTTB course?.

    • Hans

      Hi Griff,

can’t express how much how I appreciate your generosity , and willingness to shear all your knowledge with us.
      Much appreciated. Merry X-mass.

    • Alex

Griff Bro, good stuff, I had saved this lesson along with all your others. I have only been playing about 3 months. When this first came out it was over my head.
I have played every day sense I got my first guitar. I now have 9 Guitars, I’m addicted to it. I know, I know, why haven’t I bought your course yet. I almost did last night, held off at the last second. Glad I did, my account would have been the red, I didn’t know until today it was that low.
Just wanted to tell you, I have searched the net for lessons, almost every day. You my friend, hands down, have the most complete, easy to understand lessons, in every way.
I will buy your course, thanks for the help, Alex
P.S.” I’VE GOT BLISTERS OM MY FINGERS “

    • Marc

It would be helpful if the "full screen" option was functional on the lesson videos. I really like the teaching style, and appreciate the efforts required in putting this sort of thing together. ThankYou!!

    • Jess

Griff: You have made easy, what for years I’ve struggled to understand. Thanks for the opportunity. I now enjoy playing my guitar. Too bad that not all instructors have your gift.

    • JOSEPH

I was wondering what type of guitar strings that you would suggest using while learning to play the guitar? 526246

    • robert verner

      Griff,
my first time on blues guitar unleashed although i have made contact on the learners site.
i have developed a great confidence in your ability to teach and had no problem in purchasing both the ‘beginners blues guitar course’ and the
‘blues guitar unleashed. i am a 72 year old, retired, irish australian with a passionate love of all things musical, always wanted to play a musical instrument so i am at the very beginning of the learning curve.
still practicing the beginners course and have not even looked at the blues guitar unleashed course.

    • Mike

      Hey Griff.
      Wonderful job. Thanks so much..

    • Ken Herrick

      Hi Griff.
I have bought your course and am glad I did! It is very thorough and complete! These added videos are a real plus. Thanks for all the help!

    • Chris Kershaw

Very well put together! Has helped a lot,Thanks-from Chris(U.K)

    • David

      Hi Griff,
You must be unique in internet guitar teachers because you really care about people. You understand that we have to start from the begining and do not know all the things other (so called) teachers assume. I wish I had not wasted my money on other courses before I came across yours.
      Thanks,
David – from across the pond in England.

    • Rick

Hey there Griff, this one helps me understand the reading of the tabs a lot more. As for the pull off’s I see there isn’t anything to show a pull off so you just go for what sounds and feels better for yourself correct? Love the course and I recomend it to anyone even if you take the payment option, once you do after the first week you’ll be so glad you did. Thanks again Griff and always looking forward to hearing from you. Regards Rick.

    • Cyberthrasher

Great job Griff. It’s kind of funny, I was working with a buddy of mine over the webcams trying to teach him lesson 11 from BGU and we got into a discussion of what the parenthesis meant. Based on what I’d been playing I kind of guessed that it was just a held out note.

For all of you who are on the fence about buying the course or just can’t figure out how to pay for it, just do it. Even try to take the 3 payment option if you can’t really afford it. Having that bit of happiness from playing better will probably put your mind at ease over the economy as well. I’ve learned more these past few weeks than I have in the last 10 years of playing. Thanks Griff.

    • Harmonica Dave

Well I finally did it, I ordered your dvd’s. I think the whole course is pretty cool. I even got a lot out of the e-mails that I revieved, & thats pretty good for a harp player 🙂 lookin forward to the lessons, & keeping in touch. Thanks

    • Mr Music

I have to agree with Marty. I am a “senior” citizen compared to most to visit your sites and use your videos. It was very difficult for me, in fact pretty much impossible to see the actual tab in the video, even with my glasses on.
That being said, I sincerely appreciate all the help you are providing everyone. I am among those who truly appreciate your teaching methods. You seem like a “friend down the road” in your mannerisms and everything has been presented clearly and understandably. I already bought the Blues Unleashed videos and have started my training. Looking forward to playing some blues licks at an open jam. Thanks!

    • nick

thanks for all you have sent Griff ,i will be picking up the package ,but as others have said times are bad here as well.Once again i really appreciate the stuff you have sent so far.

    • ron

watched lesson on tabs still in dought where to start with it im probably not the only one would you show in order of strings and fretts the musis gos thank you so much . want your course but if i cant read tabs im sunk .///

    • David

The tab lesson is very clear and helpful, thanks. I just recently got the full course and it looks great. Just getting started but will let you know if it can even teach an old dog like me.

    • tgd

thx griff, i already knew how to read tab, but i always listen to things i already knew to pick up a few things i might have missed.

also, a note to you beginners, always get your guitar in tune before every practice or playing session.
EADGBE LOW TO HIGH OR 654321 STRINGS.
buy a tuner, i have the boss tuner and buy a metronome. i also have a boss metronome.

    • Frank

Clearly explained.Bought your Blues guitar unleashed recently.A wonderful programme by an excellent teacher. Also great value.

    • Steve

I’ve noticed a lot of people saying thanks for the free lesson and I’ll buy it soon as I can. Well, I bought it and I can tell you it’s worth every penny and more.
Griff, Thanks for the web lessons and the course, I’m 57 and haven’t played in a while, but you have motivated me to start practicing again. Good players are everywhere, Great teachers are hard to find.

    • Scott

For those of us with a limited internet connection (time or bandwidth) could you please always provide a download link for these videos, as you did in the Blue Junior video.

I am in the desert in North Africa and these blogs and lessons are keeping me sane!

I love the BGU DVD course by the way.

      Thanks,
      Scott

    • RICK

I GUST WONT TO SAY THANK YOU.I HAVE PTTB AND BGU I HAVE LEARNED A LOT. STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.

    • hugh cummings

in tab when a fret number appears in brackets what does that mean

    • steve ambrose

Cool – This is terrific – it is so simple in realaty – and clears up any confusion. At this stage I will not only be able to read tab good but also all types of music !!

      Australia

    • peter johnston

Hey Griff, good one. I never realised it was so simple. The reason is that I was used to seeing a whammy bar and thought that is how they make those fantastic sounds. Wrong! As well I have been playing keyboards for so long and they have a little wheel that you push to get those shaky sounds. Now as for the advanced tab reading I finally understand how it is really done, and it is a lot better than on a keyboard that is for sure. Thanks Mate, Peter. (Down Under)

    • Steven Williams

Very nice instruction video..Easy to follow. You just might Help make me a guitar player after all. Thanks

    • Ros

      Hi Griff

      that was really helpfull

      thank you

    • Mark Garland

      Griff,
I ordered your DVD,s a while ago through another email listed above. But please keep sending these to this address. I enjoy recieving them,a nice bonus for the day when one arrives. Since I don’t recieve them at the other email, you must only send them to people who have not bought. You should send them to the pre buyers and the have boughts. It’s a reminder to spend some time on the guitar snd a pleasure to get and read. Thanks,Mark

    • Peter Trew

      Great stuff, very helpful.
Wish I’d found this site before I bought those hard to follow DVD’s.

      THANX

    • Steve

      Hey Griff,

Nice job. I like the yellow cursor while you talked. It helped me follow visually. Also, I liked the guitar examples as it helped me hear the visualization. I hope to be buying your lessons soon!

    • Bobby

I’ve just returned to my country (Philippines) from U.S.A. & I can’t get to play your lessons (utube)instructions, as well as the eric clapton U-tubes on your recent mails to me.Still wondering why.

    • Robert

What software do you use for writing notation?

    • David

Great video Griff, especially loved the added guitar to help with the lesson!
If this economy ever turns around I’ll be picking up your course.
      Thanks Again

    • carlos tober

i want to learn to play.where do i start? i want to learn moor then then leed.i want to learn the cords up and down the neck.i want to learn cords and lead together like a solo.please email me back.

    • Marty

Interesting… I’m still somewhat uncomfortable reading TAB, so this has helped somewhat. One thing, though, it was very difficult actually seeing the notations on the video. They were pretty small. I attempted to magnify it, but only the print on the rest of the page was enlarged.

Thanks Griff, for all the information you’re putting out to us! I haven’t picked up your course (yet), although hope to soon. As soon as I know if I’m going to keep my job (as so many others I’m sure are hoping to do…). In the meantime, your free instructions are awesome!! Again, Thanks!!

    • Chuck

Awesome instruction video, that clears up a lot of questions I had.

      Thanks
