A Merry Blues Christmas

Musicians are known for releasing Christmas recordings this time of year, so I put a few videos together for you this Christmas season.  But I thought I would find recordings that were done earlier than Clapton, Vaughan, and Setzer.  I collected a series of videos from the early Texas and Delta Blues legends.  Take a look and listen to some great early blues recordings of Christmas songs past.  Enjoy!

The first video comes from Charley Jordan and is called, "Christmas Christmas Blues."  Check it out here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot77hgxxZWQ&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLB635F075B063BBD9.

The next video comes from an early Texas blues favorite, Blind Lemon Jefferson.  This tune is called, "Christmas Eve Blues."  Find it here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l0qa2UWoM0&feature=fvwrel.

The last of the early blues recordings in this post is from Blind Blake in 1929.  His recording is called, "Lonesom Christmas Blues."  Check it out here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFNCQpKsC8s&feature=related.

Now for this last video, I jumped forward a few years to 1961.  Freddie King recorded a song called, "Christmas Tears."  You can catch the recording here at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i2wypLkWkY&feature=related.
