Griff,
Awesome lessons… I purchased beginning blues guitar and blues guitar unleashed a few years ago. I am making progress albeit slow as at 50 work does before play. I do get I a few hours a week however. Thanks a million. It was money well spent.
P.s.
I would love to learn to pay your tune “Where would I begin”. It is a top notch tune.
Griff, you really put it into perspective. Great teaching, awesome lessons. Thanks so much for what you share.
Hey Griff. yuo’re just awesome. much thanks
Brilliant – Thanks
I’m just learning to play guitar. Thank you for never losing patience with me! The beauty of video, I can play it over n over n over again! Awesome!
Thank you! Very well done. This brings toagether 3 segments of BGU and provides variations easily adapted to my feeling for the backing track. .
I also appreciate the bit of theory .. flatted 7th etc. in the Tore Down rythm. It helps me understand why it sounds good, remember it and use it.
Thanks again for all the time you share with us.
I have to say I have been playing a very very time! I started when Keith Richard was a pup! (yeah, that long). You my friend are by far better then any of those online guys without question as well as many of the teachers my parents paid money to. I want to thank you and please keep up the great work.
best regards,
Michael
I didn’t realize there was anything like that in this guitar amazed TU TU TU keep up the good work
Very well done. Thanks.
Gotta love it, it’s great
Griff: My goodness, thank you so very much. This is great stuff. Griff, I’ve learned box 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and I sure would like for you to show us how to play lead in a song using box 1 and how to go into box 2, 3, 4, and 5 up the neck or how to use all the boxies with hot licks in each box. Thanks
You always have the best Griff. been with you 3yrs and you teach the best much thanks
Hi Griff
Another winner, I don’t often comment on these things but have to say you keep finding new and fresh ways to come at this and it really makes a difference to the learning experience. Great work … thanks!
Fantastic lesson. Once again, thank you so much! Now, what was once a random meaningless collage of techniques, is now a clear, understandable and sensible design with a motif of continuity. It makes sense in a very refined way. This is very helpful, and if I can get in on the Blues Gig In A Box as soon as I am able too, I probably will. It looks quite helpfully desirable. Thanks again, Griff ! Best Wishes !
Thanks so much griff for videos and lessons.I first heard a local band playing blues at a little old gold miners pub in victoria australia, and fell in love with the music, cant believe I am really learning to play it now, and such a great teacher. Good on you Griff. CHEERS,!!!!!!.
Can’t wait till tomorrow, Griff! I’m really looking forward to this new course you have for us. Thanks so much!

Downloaded the lessons in wmv successfully. Also the PDF tab files. Unable to download mp4 files or jam tracks at all. Maybe the server is slammed? Will try again later.
Thank you very much Griff. It was very interesting lesson and not too difficult. You are very good teacher and with amazing patience.
your .mp4 download link does not work.
Hi Griff,
I really enjoyed learning these three Riffs Simple and Effective. You are a great Teacher, you make it look and feel easy with a great Blues cut. I am over the moon to have purchased your BLUES GIG IN A BOX can’t wait to get it downunder in Australia. I am now in my 2nd Year learning Blues guitar at 67years with already a few electric guitars.
Thanks
Michael

I have been a classic rock lover/guitarist for all my life, but since watching your videos I have been transformed to a lover of the blues. I love the fact that each song can artistically be adapted to my on improvisational skills and that makes playing exhilarating and fun. Terrific job!
Just starting to pick on my six string hope to use this so I sound like something cool. Thanks for sharing your talent! Lonnie A
Another really great video, thanks so much Griff…
I’ve been a solo player (sitting in my room solo) and have tried to play full chords for so long. It was really useful to hear the ‘why’ of small chords and the little bit here and there approach.
Thanks, Griff! Can you please tell me what drum machine setting you are using for this lessont? Thank you!
I love your vids and wish i had time to do all this as I am just recently out of retirement and have a part time job. Just want to say I enjoy watching your vids and have re-learned a lot from you.
Thanks
It’s a wonderful thing you’re doing. I’ve been caught several times in jam sessions doing the wrong thing. This should solve the problem.
It’s great and rare to see a teacher communicate simple, practical and USEFUL ideas. This is the cornerstone of being able to play at a professional level – the opposite of what most musicians teach and think, but definitely the right way!
Fantasic lesson , sooo helpful . Feel like that is going to change everything.
Very helpful man. Thank you!
Great lesson; wish I lived close enough to be an on site student; but still getting a lot of your experience & knowledge on line. Thanks so much, & please keep them coming!!!
you make this look so easy, as a beginner i am impressed and over whelmed at the same time.
if you hear noise in your attic dont be alarmed. i am just moving in hoping some of your skills rub off into me.
Griff,
Wow…I have been learning to play for about about 3 years. I have your acoustic and slide courses and love all the emails and blog.
This lesson is essential to play blues rhythem!
I just played in my first ever jam session (mostly rock) with friends that gig and everyone was impressed that I was “In the pocket” with my tele and cheap amp (clean) while the other 3 or 4 humbucker guitars all seemed to step on each other playing the same power chords with massive overdriven tones.
I thank you for your wisdom and clarity!!!
This taught alot. Griff is great.
Thanks for this.
Great video.
I can see alot of room for fun with this one , thanks Griff .
Always happy to see a new lesson, really enjoy and use.
Have learned a lot on the Course l bought.
plenty of info still enjoying and playing through it.
This is the non-guitar playing grandma.. Loved the video! Saved it to my computer. printed the music and played it on the piano. The first rhythm is the one the Harmonica Club of New Orleans taught the kids
I just got a computer and wasn’t
sure I could even get the video to
play.sometimes the hardest thing
to learn is less is more.thanks for
showing me the way can,t wait
to learn more from you
Great Stuff Griff!
Love these lessons; easy to understand, well delivered.
A winner! While mostly in the dark as a true beginner at 63 years young, in you, I’ve finally found the inspiration to forge ahead. Perhaps I’ll even travel with guitar, in October, to Shackup Inn in Clarksdale on my way to the “Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival” in NOLA. Always a Blues in time maybe a Blues player. Thanks Griff.
I will soon be 70, and my fingers don’t move like yours, but I’m finding that I can play some of the things I have been playing and sounds good with your playing. You are really good and I will keep trying to do what you do.
Thank you for the lessons. On a fixed income, it would be very hard for me to pay for lessons, and from what I have seen of others who have been taking lessons, they would sound much better after watching you.
Thank You,
Charles
